You turn the visits a US practice has already performed into money that actually lands in its account.

Virtual Medical Biller Jobs for US Clients
The day runs on the claim cycle. You pull the encounters the providers closed, check that the CPT and ICD-10 codes match what the notes actually support, and send the batch through the clearinghouse. Then you clear the rejections that bounce back within hours, post the ERAs that arrived overnight, and open the aging report: which claims are sitting at thirty days, and which payer is quietly sitting on them.
VAinUSA hires medical billers from anywhere in the world. What matters is real billing experience and the persistence to keep working a denied claim until it pays. This is a work from home role built around your reliability, not your location. Nobody pays a fee to apply here, and there is no course to buy first. This is a job with one employer behind it, not an MLM.
You work closest to the front desk staff who register patients and to the provider whose documentation decides whether a code holds up. Payer representatives get your phone calls when a claim stalls. Practices watch their days in accounts receivable closely, so a biller who pulls that number down becomes very hard to replace, and often takes on credentialing next.
What You'll Do
- Claim Preparation and Submission: Check codes against the provider's documentation and send clean batches through the clearinghouse.
- Denials and Rejections: Read the denial code, fix the cause rather than the symptom, then resubmit or appeal with documentation attached.
- Payment Posting: Post ERAs and paper EOBs, apply contractual adjustments, and confirm the deposits match what was posted.
- Accounts Receivable Follow Up: Work the aging report bucket by bucket and call payers on the claims that have gone silent.
- Eligibility and Authorization: Verify coverage and prior authorization before the visit so the claim does not die on a technicality.
- Patient Balances and Records: Send accurate statements, answer billing questions kindly, and keep protected health information secure.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I Need Medical Billing Experience to Apply?
This is one of the few roles here where we cannot be flexible. A US practice is trusting you with its revenue and with protected patient data, so you need to have submitted claims, read denial codes, and worked an aging report already. A CPC or CPB certification helps your application, though proven billing work counts for more than any certificate.
What Hours Will I Work?
You work a set weekday shift lined up with the practice's front office, with claim batches going out on the same days each week. Payer phone lines only answer during US business hours, so follow up calls anchor part of every afternoon. Month end runs busier, because that is when the aging report gets everyone's attention.
Can I Apply If I'm Not Based in the Philippines?
Apply from wherever you are. Practices judge a biller by clean claim rate and collections, never by address, and we place people who are hired from anywhere in the world. What you do need is documented billing experience, real persistence with denials, and a room where patient information stays out of view of anyone else.
How Much Do Remote Medical Billers Earn?
The range is $5 to $8 / hr, paid weekly in USD, plus bonuses. Specialty is the biggest factor in where you land: straightforward primary care billing sits toward the lower end, while surgical, behavioral health, and heavy prior authorization work pays more because the payer rules are harder to master. You will know your exact rate before you accept a placement, never after.
Which Billing Software Will I Use?
Whatever the practice already runs, and they pay for your access to it. Tebra (formerly Kareo), AdvancedMD, athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, and DrChrono all come up often, alongside a clearinghouse such as Availity or Waystar. You are trained on that specific setup. Nobody expects a biller to have used all of them.
How Is Patient Privacy Handled?
Training comes before access. You complete HIPAA training, sign the practice's agreements, and set up a workstation that meets its rules: a private room, a screen that locks, no shared family computer. Because this is a work from home role, the security of your own setup counts as part of the job rather than a formality.
Is This Steady Work or a Short Contract?
Steady. Claims arrive every single day a practice sees patients, so billing is continuous work rather than a project with a finish line. Practices also lose money during a handover, which makes them slow to swap billers. These placements are meant to run for years, and the longer you stay the better you know the payer mix.
